Patients want to know how long veneers take before they want to know almost anything else, usually because something is coming up. The answer is about a month, and most of that month is not spent in a dental chair.

Three substantive appointments, plus a short check. The rest is waiting, and the waiting is the part doing the work.
Why the lab stage cannot be rushed
A porcelain veneer is built up in ceramic layers by hand, for one patient, from an impression of their teeth. That layering is what gives porcelain its depth and what stops a finished case looking like a row of identical white tiles.
Compressing it produces exactly the result nobody wants. Two weeks is typical; four is not unusual for a large case or a difficult shade match.
The temporaries are where you decide
This is the stage most articles skip past, and it is the one that decides whether you are happy.
Temporary veneers go on at the preparation visit and you wear them home. They show the new shape, length and outline. You eat with them, talk with them, and see them in your own mirror in your own light rather than under a dental lamp.
Anything you want changed gets changed before the ceramist starts. Longer, shorter, squarer, softer at the corners. Changes at this stage cost time. Changes after the porcelain exists cost a remake.
Planning around a date
If there is an event, work backwards from it and add a fortnight of margin. A month is typical; a complicated case or a shade that needs a second attempt can run longer, and you do not want the fitting appointment to be the week of the wedding.
Coming from out of town
Sarasota Smile Design treats patients traveling in from Nokomis, Osprey, Venice and further afield, and the schedule flexes for it when the practice knows in advance.
The consultation and preparation can often be arranged close together, which leaves a single return trip for the fitting. Say you are traveling when you book; it changes how the appointments are laid out.
After the fitting
Temperature sensitivity for about a week is normal. Beyond that, veneers are brushed and cleaned between like natural teeth, with a night guard if you grind.
